I'm back

Hi everyone.  I could write a book about this past week, but I won't.  We had about 5 days without power, but some people around us were without power longer and some still don't have any.  We sill have a huge mess in our yard to clean up with lots of trees down.  My son ended up getting really sick and we took him to an urgent care center on the weekend and his white blood cell count was really elevated, so he was placed on strong antibiotics then a a day later, I got the flu.  I know that I ended up getting completely worn down so it's no surprise that I got the flu. Of course the flu made my lupus symptoms flare and I'm finding it hard to get the rest I need because things are so busy right now, but I'm trying because I don't want to increase my prednisone.  It's just frustrating because I had really been doing pretty well before all of this happened and I had even managed to taper down to 7.5mg of prednisone. I saw my rheumy yesterday and had a good appointment with him.  He said that my mouth and eyes are so dry now that he'd like me to try evoxac (sp?) to see if it gives me some relief.  He said it should help with saliva and that some people have told him that after a while it had also helped with tears too.  I have my samples, but haven't tried them yet.  I look to look things up about the med just to be awayre of possible side effects before I take it.  He wanted to run some labs but when I told him I was getting a physical soon, he wrote out a script for the labs when I have my physical done. So, that's my story.  I'll slowly try to catch up with everyone here.

Hi Hippi glad you are back and that things are getting better. We are in the same boat I am starting salagen it's another version of exovac as we don't have it Canada yet. From what I read the med works very well and I guess when taken at night you can actually wake up in the morning with no dry mouth... Can you even imagine.. LOL

(((((Hippi))))))) Glad your power is back on . . . do rest!!! I hope you and your son get back to "normal" before Christmas . . . *sigh* what a long week for you and just before the holidays. Blessings!

Now Hippi, you would be the first one to tell me forget the house you need to rest! So I'm throwing it back at ya. I'm glad you checked in but like everyone else has said you need to rest rest and rest! Wern't you the one that said you couldn't wait until summer was over? I hope this is not an inndication of things to come. How is your son doing? Bless his heart. It's hard enough to deal with this as an adult but a child it's just totallly not fair!
Please take care of yourself forget about the house. Some times my house is a mess when I'm not even sick. LOL.
if you're going to your daughter dance make sure you a bundled up real good and take your pills with you just in case!
