So I went to my first pilates class tonight at our community center. My friend came with me and we had fun! I wasn't the only stiff, flexibly challenged person there! What a relief. We did have a few good laughs though when it came to doing the balance exercises. I was all over the place. I needed something to hang onto. So that was pretty funny. All in all, I loved it. My abs are already telling me, "you're gonna hurt tomorrow. HA-HA, sucker!" I have 7 more classes to do, and I'm really going to enjoy them.
So I wanted to spread a little light heartedness in the forum tonight. If anyone has the chance to do pilates, DO IT! It's not hard on the joints at all, and it was really easy for me to do. If it's easy for me, anyone can do it! I felt energized at the end! Lots of focus on breathing, and using the ab muscles to lift my legs and back, etc. Very interesting stuff! It didn't hurt my arthritic neck either. That was a concern, but I'm just fine!
So sleep on this tonight gals. Look into pilates if you want a great way to tone the old bod and mind!!
