Dr. Daniel Wallace......

Oh, he's the big lupus dude!!!  His books are fantastic.  Do you have any of them?  I'd recommend them for sure.

 

As far as I know, he's still practicing, however he's more involved with the research side of things now.  He's in the UK, last time I heard.

Yes he is in practice, last I heard anyway. He is located somewhere in California. I have his book too, very informative with up to date information.

He is still practising and sets aside time for new patients if he thinks he can help them. A lot of the new people he sees are difficult cases who have already seen other rheumatologists without much luck.

The high profile lupus specialist in the UK is Dr Hughes who has retired from public health practice but is in private practice at the new private London Lupus Centre

Well, if they stole my book given the title it stands to reason they couldn't afford to buy it and the local library has 1 book on lupus that was written in the 70's. I figure they really needed it because it isn't worth anything if they were trying to sell it. Besides which they left all the other stuff alone- some of it worth a couple hundred dollars so I figure there was a reason for it and that if they needed it that bad then I figure they must have been like some of us- struggling to find treatment/dx or newly dxed and terrified given what info they could find at the library. That book at the library still give very low 5 year survival rates.
