Update

  

    Hi ALL!     I've been lurking the last few weeks and learning a lot! THANK YOU  Ginny, Firebabe, Okie, Dakota0917 and Redrose77 for answering my first post I took your advice got my lab work and found a different Rheumy! After spending over a hour with me and looking over my labs she did diagnose me with Lupus, even though I suspected it, it was still hard to hear, strange isn't it? I have been all over the net and this is the BEST BOARD in my opinion. I have so many questions but I'm still trying to get my thoughts together.

Wow.  I know it's a hard thing to wrap your head around isn't it. But also a relief to know what it is that you have.  I"m so glad you are here to share with us and get the suppport you're going to need. I agree. This board has been a blessing to me too.  I've been here for a long time now.  I think about 4 years. Maybe longer!  Take the time you need to reflect on this new life you will have.  We're always here for you, any time.

 

Do you like your new rheumy?  How long have you been on your new meds?  I have heard great things about plaquenil.  I hope it works really well for you!  Lots of members here are on it.

Hi Redhands. I'm glad you found a rheumy who really took time to look over your symptoms and labs and put all the pieces of the puzzle together. Like Rosie said, it can be bittersweet to hear a diagnosis. On the one hand it's a relief to have a doc who finally "gets it" but overwhelming and scary to know you are dealing with something like lupus. If you have questions, please ask away and we'll do our best to try to answer them and also know we are here for support during any rough times. I agree with you about this being the best forum around. When I first got sick and docs suspected lupus I was all over the internet and when I found this site it just felt like home.
