HUGE COMPLAINT - Experiance & Hope Needed

   Tks for updating us. I'm glad you hear you have been able to relax some. I was concerned the stress would throw you into a flare.

    It's wonderful you have such amazing friends ready to help you with the things you need in this time of distress. I'm glad to know they are so caring and supportive.

I would contact the Board of Finance and Insurance in your state. The attorney general of the state can tell you how to contact them, or another governmental office if you can't find it on the net or phone book. They will call the insurance company and intervene on your behalf and can tell you what the state law says. Also, the EEOC might be able to help you some because they handle family medical leave, they know some, also they can direct you to the board of insurance hopefully. The Board of Insurance handles the regulation of insurance companies and is like the consumer complaint place for insurance companies. You may have to fax some documentation, but usually one call to the insurance company from board of insurance will get you your money immediately. They are just trying to cut you off illegally because they don't want to pay and they feel you wont do anything. My mom worked in insurance for a long time and no insurance company wants to deal with board of insurance.

If I knew your state I could try to find the number for you. You should be able to find it in the state phone number section or internet. Usually a real person will enter and no forms will be required to be filled out. They generally will talk to you then call the insurance company and give them a hard time. Usually, things are resolved immediately after the call, though sometimes you have to go through a longer process with the board of insurance, which makes the board really mad. I hope this helps. It should. I had my private disability screw me out of benefits and board of insurance called them and if the company had not been sold and it hadn't been so long, I could have gotten my benefits, even though I followed none of the rules to file for it because I was too sick to do it.

I hope you get this resolved quickly. If you still have problems, there are some organizations of disability attorneys that work on spec, but that would be my last resort.

Im sure the board should straighten it out, if they are any good. they have nothing else to do. Sorry this has happened to you.
