Went to the school reunion today. Its 60yrs old and a VERY posh convent school run originally by English nuns. four of my class were there. We left 38yrs ago! YIKE! I brought some pics of some of the girls aged around 12 and one of the nuns in full habit with the whimple and all!
It was hard. I was the only one in a wheelchair. The mass was long and I was jigging and jerking at the back. I walked out a few times as I was so self concious.
I did walk of course cos I can. My deafness meant that I didnt hear any of the mass nor what the classmates said to each other. I picked tiny snippets up.
I greeted with fondness two nuns I really liked. One who fed us in the refectory, Sr. Francis, and I told her her food was fab. One always remembers those who fed us eh?
Also a nun who took mags and I under her wing very early realising we were deaf etc.
I enjoyed it but it was HOT! I stomped the old hockey pitch and the class rooms but the second time I did I realised I was one tired lass so went and retrieved the wheelchair and packed up and came home.
Fan on, my chihuahua sleeping on my shoulder and I am happy.
Am charging my new camera (ginny!) and went to put the kit lens on which flew into the air, luckily I caught it. Great if it had smashed just out of the box.
I am glad I have it out of the box and plan now to 'get a life' after London.
