I'm trying Provigil from my rheumie. It is a new sort of stimulant type drug that is not an amphetamine and it is supposed to help with concentration and brain fog and fatigue from sleep apnea. My rheumie says he has several patients on it and they really like it. Anything will be great if it makes my brain work. Since my markers are down, he wants to try this to see if I can get through with it and avoid steroids for a while. As long as I have my mind, that is good. It is also supposed to have a mild euphoric effect and doesn't seem to have any great bad side effects outside mild nausea, which I already have. I'm sleeping like 12 to 18 hours lately and am very sluggish. If it can help me be active again so I can exercise and have more of a life, it would really help. I will let you know what it does. I tend to have very bad reactions because of my liver, so I'm probably not the greatest indicator. He is only giving me a half dose though so I should be ok.
He also gave me a muscle relaxing gel for my joints. I can't take voltaren because I can't metabolize it well, but since the gel is absorbed through my skin, it will bypass my liver and stomach. I do well with meds through the skin. It's something to try if you have liver or stomach problems.
