Aims,
I had a GI bleed in June. They determined that when my hemoglobin dropped really low, by doing a upper GI. It really wasn't that bad at all. I was in the hospital. They transfused me and gave me protonix and carafate. It sounds scarey and it can potentially be serioous, but it's definitley one of the easier treatable issues!!! My hemaglobin is really low right now. I will probably land in the hospital for another transfusion on Monday. I am having much difficulty sustaining my blood counts due to bone marrow suppression from Lupus, Chronic Renal disease and meds! I ended up needing another transfusion in July. I'm sorry, i'm rambling, major cognitive dysfunction at this time! Anyway, try not to worry too much! It's more than likely fixable!
Keep us posted! Judy
