No pain med options for me.....

Talked with my rheumy on the phone this afternoon.  There's nothing I can take for my pain that won't make me drowsy.  It's because I'm on a benzodiazapine (tranquilizer) for the seizures I'm no longer having.  It will take me one more year to taper off the benzo completely.  It's that addictive to the body.  I have to go really slow.....

 

So, extra strength Tylenol is all I can take. 

 

I did receive the bone scan report via fax from her though. I need it to take to the foot doctor on Tuesday.  Turns out I do have plantar fasciitis.  And "a low-grade focus in the mid shaft of the right femur. Uncertain significance. Is the area painful?"  That's what the report says.  Weird eh... No, no pain in the mid region of my right femur.  None at all.  I'm always such a mystery!

 

Good thing is that my fibro pain has lessened this week.  I'm on an extra 10mg of Amitriptyline which seems to have helped.  That drug has always been a good fit for me. 

 

Anyway, that's the update for now,

Sorry about the med issue Ginny . . . that's rough. Plantar fasciitis??? Hmmmmmm . . . I hate it when I'm right. Make sure to wear a really good pair of hiking shoes. The hikers (trail treckers) keep their support way longer than those sold for walking. I really like shopping at SierraTradingPost.com They are an outlet and have saved me lots. I'm fortunate that my pain has subsided quite a bit in the last few days.  I'm just waiting for the next big flare up! LOL.

 

I see a foot specialist on Tuesday and we'll be talking about footwear for sure.  I'm not buying anything until I talk to him. 

 

I tried acupuncture back in February. LOL, it was horrid!!!  I'm on blood thinners, and even those little tiny needles made HUGE, and I mean MASSIVE bruises on my body.  Size of big apples!!! I looked like a Dalmation, and they lasted for 6 weeks!  So I'll never do that again.  Good thought though Pat! LOL.
