Hi,
Oh yes, I sure get buzzing sensations all over, amongst other things. I get buzzing on the bottom of my feet, sometimes in the arch area, other times right below where my big toe starts, on my face. I also get alot of buzzing on the back of my head. The place where I get the most buzzing is on my neck, like in the area right between the shoulder blades, and then it moves down the side of my spine sometimes. It's weird, I describe it like feeling like I have a TENS unit stuck on the area. I also get alot of nerve pains, sometimes extremely shocking. Lately, which is new for me, i've been getting completely numb in my right cheek. Once, I woke up laying on my back, and my right cheek, and a small part of my outer lips were completely numb, as If I'd just had a novacaine shot at the dentist. It took a few hours, then it went back to normal. Last week, I got up in the morning to get ready, then about 1/2 hour after being up and about, I felt that same area going numb again, though it didn't go completely numb. What happened first was the whole area felt extremely icy-hot, then a little tingly, then it started going numb. I also get these random short shocks of what feels like wet, icy-hot sensations all over my body.
I do have a history of lumbar spine problems and lumbar stenosis, for which I had surgery. I do have alot of scar tissue, which causes problems, but that does not account for my symptoms in my upper body and all these weird random places. Last time I was at my Rheum, I said I just didn't understand why I was getting nerve pain and severe muscle spasms all over my body....and he just said, Oh, it's probably fibromyalgia. But in my gut, I do not think that's what it is. Not to mention, I've tried Elavil in the past, and am currently on Lyrica (from my PM for my nerve pains). The Elavil never did a thing, except help me sleep. (And when I took it, I did have fatigue and muscle aching, thought not sure about any tender points). The Lyrica does seem to help my nerve pains, for the most part. They are not so severe 24-7, but I have had some exacerbations. But I really have no clue what is causing all this. What I do know, though, is that every time I take steroids, whether it be oral, or epidural steroid injections into my spine.....when the steroids wear off, I get bombarded with all these symptoms very severely.
