Hester Stroke and out of hospital

Hope Ginny is ok.  I worry about her.  Shs is such a good soul.  always to give to us so much.

I have to drive to myself to the doctor, soon, just wanted all of you to know I am ok.

Hope we will hear soon about Ginny.

They did an MRI at the hospital and found the stroke.  It is the size of a quater.  they did what they call an MRA, and a cardiogram, and found the heart was beating well, and arteries were clear.  also the carotid arteries are also clear.  nothing affected me but my speech.  and I am doing better every day.  this could have happened anyone at any time.  just a little tiny blood clot, and it was just a little bit that happened.  It probably stuck for a nanosecond and then went through the arteries or vein and it went away.  just a tiny stroke.

they did give me blood thinners in my stomach.  I am going to ask the doctor today to give me blood thinners.

I tended to have a fight with the hospital.  i won.  the neurologist told me to go home, and my own doctor told me to go home, but this stupid little nurse said that I could not go home.  I told them I would go AMA, so my doc discharged me.  I have a normal low blood pressure.  Had this all for my life.  90/60 always.  so this little nurse was going to show her power to me.  and it did not set well with me.

I am leaving now to drive to the doctor.  Will let you know what they say.  I just hope we can hear from Ginny.  I do not mean to harp on Ginny so much.  I know Barb is also in the hospital.  I do not mean to leave her out.  I just really do worry about Ginny.  if some of you know, could you tell me about her.  I know that there are many sick, and do not need to ever leave anyone out ever. We were really worried about you. Do they know the cause of the stroke? APS or normal stuff like plaque build up or vascular issues??

Are you on some type of blood thinner now? What's the plan?

It is a good place that I am at this moment.  I know what the problem was.  i take aspirin as blood thinners and plavix.  I forgot to buy my aspirin for 2 or more weeks.  Just can't forget them ever again.  any of you who take aspirin for your heart, please don't forget them if you can.  all this brain fog, what I think was brain fog, was actually a stroke about to happen.

and if I read through my posts a couple or three times, I can send a pretty good post.  not as I used to be, but enough to know what to say and what to correct.

I drove mysef to the doctor by myself today, and of course I have to drive back home again.  stroke was easy for me.  strokes are silent and painless.  I am just so glad to be back home again, and able to tend to my emails

please do tell me to take my aspirin.  I do my meds religiously.   but for some reason did not get them. all I had to do was just go to dollar general and get a dollar bottle of aspirin.  My granddaughter bought me a big bottle of aspirin.  400 aspirins.  good for a year or more.

Always Ginny.  Giving to others even in the midst of your own needs.

I think I need to take two aspirins each day.  I think this caused the stroke.  I asked for blood thinners, but they were not given to me.  They gave me shots in my stomach, and it was blood thinners.  but no prescriptions for blood thinners.  Maybe when I get to my rheumy, I may ask him to do that blood test that you told me about Ginny.  It really could have been the thick blood.

Trouble concentrating, talking and feel dizzy.  that is the symptoms alright.  but today is a good day.  my verbal ability is healing also.  learning to think again.  Verbally still I lose my words.  but writing seems to have gone well, and a few days after the stroke, i am still mending pretty good.  I was so worried that I would not be able to get my skills of writing back, and next I will work on my verbal capacity.

A mini flare today.  diarrhea again.  I think my body is telling me that I have a bacteria, so the body tries to flush it out with diarrhea, causing a tiny flare.  At least it is a day of diarrhea, instead of days of it.  Plaquenil is a miracle drug for me.

I need to find more new posts too so that more people can experience what it means to be a part of this forum.  This too is a miracle to me.

Thank you for your response Lucy.  Actually it seems to be getting better every single day.  I am still having a problem with finding my words, but my writing is much improved.

Thanks, Rosie.  Just taking it a day at a time (what else can one do, right?)  Will see my rheumie to get my latest lab results next week.  Hoping for some help.  Loved the recipe and gift OT posts.  Take care - Lucy
