House trained!!!

Hey y'all...from the sunny and warm South Mississippi...I started training today for home dialysis!  You guys, I can't tell you how excited and happy I am!  I am getting my own little cozy apartment (tiny)!  It's a small step toward my freedom and I am starting to feel optimistic about my future again.  I've whined so much over the last couple of years I just wanted to share some good news.   God has been so good to me through it all.  When it feels like it's all but over don't give up, you never know what's around the corner.  I almost feel guilty sharing my good news, I know many of you are struggling.  Please be encouraged.  Things won't always be the way they are now.  God Bless you all.  Happy New Years!!!  Judy

My Christmas was good.  I think for New Years my immediate family is having dinner and then doing fireworks with the kids!  We keep it pretty low key.  How about you?

Judy, I'm glad the apartment is working for you and that you are getting settled in with the dialysis. You have had so much happen to you in this past year, don't ever feel like you are whining - you have had more than your fair share of serious health problems. I'm praying that the new year brings you improved health. Lots of hugs and prayers :)

   I am still in training for home dialysis, it takes a few weeks because you have to work it around your in clinic dialysis schedule.  I am really looking forward to starting.  I had to be put on Vancomycin, IV because my arm gaped open and is beginning to look infected.  Overall, i'm feeling sooo much better and everything seems to be on the up and up! 

   I so appreciate everyone's support and concern.  I have another tid bit of awesome news.  I am completely off of prednisone!!! (for 2 weeks) and my appetite is way down!  I am beginning to see the numbers on the scale go down.  Please pray for this to continue.

I pray that you can get off of it also. I'm trying to loose weight and strengthen up for my transplant! My arm is getting better, slowly but surely!
Sorry I haven't been around much. My schedule has been tight. Next week I go to Biloxi (1 hour 15 min drive) every day and do training 9a-3p! So, tomorrow is my last hemodialysis! Yippee! I'll check in as soon as possible. I am not ignoring everyone's posts, just been so busy, but it's going to get better soon! Love you all!!!! Judy
