Hi All,
Well, my GP placed a request for me to be seen by the local pain clinic back in November, they called me in early December I think to get a bit of info and told me not to get my hopes up that the docs weren't taking to many new patients, but the nurse would place my file in for review and it would probably be Spring before I heard anything. I thought, my goodness that is simply crazy, I mean, "hello, pain clinic= people needing help, can't they speed things up?" but I didn't say anything.
Well, to my surprise I received a call from the clinic today advising the doctor has accepted my case if I am still interested! Am I still interested...uhhhh...YES! My appointment is not until March 10th, but it's at least within sight, so I am excited to get that under way.
I have never been to a pain doctor, so I have no clue what to expect. My reasoning for applying is that I currently take 6 to 8 Norco a day, my GP thought that was way too many, especially given the state of my GI tract which is not the best. I am hoping they can give me something that will bypass the GI tract, possibly a pain pump or something I guess is what I am hoping for.
If anyone has any experience or input I would appreciate the info.
Thanks,
Melissa
