Hi Carol,

 

I know lasting week was exhausting for you and I you were pretty much on information overload, so, I just wanted to send a (((hug))) your way! I hope you were able to get some much needed rest this weekend and things are going well this week.

 

I see on the weather channel that Oklahoma is being hit with some pretty bad weather and dang if you all aren't sending it down here to Texas! We are suppose to be getting freezing rain tonight and a high of 31 tomorrow! So, you okies stay inside and keep warm, I know I plan too!

Hi ya Mel! Yeah this is my week of rest. Girlfriend you can have all this weather if you want it. The whole ground is a sheet of ice. Cops told everyone to stay off the road and if you do go out and have an accident don't call them unless your bleeding lol. It's bad and it is supposed to stay that way for a couple of days. Oh and BTW I lived in carolton texas for a little while and my first grandbaby was born in waco. That place can use a little snow! I know I know "Don't mess with Texas!".
Well as far as how am I doing. I'm doing just ok. I really should be getting checked out because I feel like i am getting fluid built up in my chest burn around my heart my back and my neck. It's been coming and going for a couple of days. BUt the hospital is 45 miles and you can't get out of the driveway without sliding in a ditch so unless it gets bad enough for an ambulance my butt is staying home.
I got my about list for feb 2nd Oh brother ! I'm spending the night at Pats on Sunday because I have to be at the hospital at 7:30 am monday morning here is my schedule:
7;30 check inand pick up urine jugs and stool cards. (fun)
8:30bone density
9:30 ct scan sinus
10;00ct scan chest
10:30absominal ultrasound
11:00 kidney ultra sound
11:30 carotid ultra sound
12 panorex of mouth
12:15 chest xray
1:00 esophagram with tablet
1:45 vq scan
2:45 pulmonary shunt.
On the top of the paper it says they want my papers from dentist, colonocopy,mamogram,heart cathederization and pap smear. and if I havn't had them done lately that I need to expect to have them done. Well I havn't had them done lately. :(.

Oh did you notice they don't even let me have time to eat? All it says on the bottom is after this you will be done for the day. and I have to return on the 10th. I think they are trying to scare me out of it. guess what???????? It's working lol. I'm gonna be so tired I won't be able to talk for days.

So what's the deal with your predisone? How are you feeling? I guess I'll go to bed. I got a dog at my feet a my 3 month old kitty on top of my computer screen. She always lays up there so I have to look between her paws to see the screen.
thanks for checking on me. I'm sorry I wrote a noval I just thought as long as you were asking it was a perfect opportunity to whine about it! Oh yeah all those test and I can drink anything after midnight.. They're trying to kill me which would be easier than a transplant.

Wow, Carol, that is quite a schedule. You are going to be worn out after that day. Well, the nasty weather gives you an good excuse to stay in and get lots of rest. I wish I could join you and Pat for your pajama party. It's really neat that this forum has brought people together to help each other out.

You have such a good attitude & there is always strength in humor, which you are still finding plenty of - even when you are "whining" (which I think you may need a refresher course on) smilewinkgrin    Take care of yourself, get plenty of rest, and soldier on.  Hugs, good wishes, and many prayers going out to you!

I've thought about and I think I'll let you keep the ice! We've had a bit of rain and it's currently 27 out, that's enough for me!

Girl, I just don't know how you do it! You have the best attitude of anyone I know, you are a true inspiration! If that is what you consider whining, I'm not sure what the true definition is! I'm glad that you will be staying with Pat and having a PJ party the night before your marathon of test! My goodness I can't believe the schedule they put you through, I guess they want to see how much you can take in one day, eyhh. I'm with Hippi, I wish I was there to join in the p.j. party too, sounds like fun! It is truly amazing that you two were brought together through this forum!

As far as the prednisone goes, let me tell you...they supposedly shipped my pred on the 17th right..HAHA ! Get this, I ordered my Norco on the 21st, well yesterday BOTH meds arrived in the mail! Now, hmmm, isn't it odd that one was shipped 5 days before the other one was even ordered and they both came in at the same time! Anyway, I started the pred yesterday, I'm sure it will take a couple of days to kick back in.

Remember I told you my husband was from OKC, we come up there from time to time. The next time I'm up that way I'm going to look you and Pat up!

Well, keep warm, get some rest and I hope that burning feeling in your chest keeps at bay! Keep off the ice, I know you are probably dying to get out there and show off all your skating moves on the ice!

Carol,

I caught a bad cold and have been down since we spoke, but I have been thinking about you and worrying about what you're going through. I'm glad you didn't end up going to the hospital, but hope your brother and SIL would take you seriously if you had a life threatening situation. If they don't, call an ambulance!

I believe the weather will have cleared up by Sunday. I look forward to seeing you. Until then, take care.

Hi Carol--
I haven't been on much but glad to see the docs taking such good care of you, thought it does sound like it will exhausting. They are gonna scan the heck out of ya! The weather sounds terrible too and good for staying inside with tea and slippers. I've been at PT and they've got something cracked into place so I can stand but now I have had a horrible pain the butt literally (well hip) that is horrible and my leg is all swollen so I still have trouble walking, sitting, and laying down, but my back has never felt better:).

Please know I have been thinking of you and praying for you even though I may not be on and wish you all the best.

Fran, thanks for the prayers. I really don't want you to worry about anything though. Except maybe getting your behind kicked on trivia lol. I havn't seen ya there lately. Than again as bad as I am I might as well not be there either.

Hippi, I wish you could be there for the p.j. party too. I got a 50 dollar gift certificate for christmas I havn't used yet. I need some pillows so I'm thinkin p.j. party and pillow fights. Of course Pat's hubby will think we are all certifiable. Well maybe not after all he's used to her lol.  I'm sorry I havn't been there for you and all you are going through with your daughter. Bless your heart. Remember God won't give you any more than you can take. You are loved lady!

Hi Lucy, trust me if I don't find the humor in life I won't make it. Besides you guys always lift me up. I count on ya all. Hey Mel, I have a dozen people that would differ with you about my attitude. But than again I am just so misunderstood lol. blush Ya know texas ain't that far. and has your hubby found me a hairy legged truck driver yet? I'm not picky as long as he's breathing. He doesn't even need that I have two home oxygen machines! I'm so glad you got that predisone. As much as I hate the stuff it's that love hate relationship everyone talks about. I hope you get feeling better soon.

Pat, you're sick huh? I hope you didn't pick it up from the perfume lady. I had another health care worker in yesterday and guess what..........we met up at the little health care clinic today. She is being tested and treated for stress throat! smhair . She started last week and has only been able to work 2 days and she is supposed to work 5 days a week. I'm not talking about kathy. Kathy started off as my health care worker and ended up being my friend. So now we hang out which is good because she always as a good attitude. You guys probably got hit hard down there. I got out of the car in my cowgirl boots and went sliding into the street today. we got 1/2 inch of ice. no one is working and there is no school until further notice. Oh yeah back to the clinic thing. I hate going there because they are all P.A.'s and the don't know how to deal with me. He said he couldn't hear my heart beat cuz of the fluid and thinks I have angina. He upped my lasix and was gonna give me anti -b's but I told him I already take them. Then after I left he made me an appt with my pulm. he wants to see me in his office tomorrow. What does he expect me to do? SLIDE? So I'm gonna call and canceal. I mean he won't do anything that they won't do on monday. Anyway you get over that cold and stay warm. Take your vitamins. My family won't be there so we will have to get crazy lol.

Hi Marji, Do you have a walker? I think I asked you that once. That ordered me one with a seat and a basket and wheels and breaks. That way I can lug around oxygen and set down and stuff. Good grief I sound like I'm 90 years old! So the PT Is working huh? how often do you have it? How long have you been at it. I know you said you were going to have to do it. They are supposed to get me set up but now they are saying the hospital with set me up with it. So i'm confused. Is the swollen leg a temp thing I hope. I do thing your pain is symbolic of this whole dog gone thing. It's one royal pain in the butt!

Well I guess I should try to get some sleep my back is starting to hurt. I either need a new chair or a a lap top.

Carol,

Sorry about your new heath care person. You'll never be able to replace Kathy. Sunday is the Super Bowl which is a huge deal in my hubby's life, so his boys will probably be here. Hope you like football. I don't even know who's playing.

My cold has turned into bronchitis. I called my doc & she and her nurse aren't in yet. I don't want to get out in this mess. Schools are closed here too. Even my yarn store is closed and usually that's where everyone gathers in this kind of weather.

Be careful on this ice!!!! In fact you shouldn't even go out to get the paper. The last think you need is to break something.

Time for a hot hot bath. This makes me realize how awful it must be to have tight lungs all the time.

Take care and stay inside.

I have to go to enid the pain in my chest is worse so I will go see my pulmonlogist at 2:30.

As for the game well let me tell ya vegas has a 7 point spread on the game. it's the steelers against the cardinals. Now Pat that would be the ARIZONA CARDINALS LOL. it's been 61 years since they have been this far. I hope your hubby dont mind women screaming at the game yeah

he probably doesn't even want women there. tongue   I'll have to wear my arizona sweatshirt.

Take care of your lungs girlfriend. Bronchitis is dangerous especially with lupus you don't need any more problems.

Hi Carol. As usual you have so much happening in your life I don't know how you keep up. Well, hopefully you'll have some short bridges to cross for a while and get some relief. BTW, since I live in AZ from 1996-1998 I will be cheering for the Cardinals. I also lived in Missouri way back when the Cardinals were in St. Louis, but I wasn't a football fan then. Now I'm hooked. Carol how is the chest pain? Did you go back to your pulm? I'm worried about you, and saying prayers for you. Let us know how you're doing okay?

Hey Donna and Ginny, thanks for the shout. Donna I knew there was somthing I loved about ya! A cardinals fan! whoa whoa! Technicallly I am a chicago bears fan but they already won so now I'm routing for the cards. I was actually born in indiana just outside of chicago. moved to az which I was 23 moved to oklahoma when I was 48. Boy I have to take off my shoes and count my toes to figure out how old I am.

Hi ya Ginny, well actually my chest is a little worse. I went to the pulm today and he said my xrays look the same as they did the last time I was in. He said it could be stress from all the stuff going on or he could be missing somthing and it could be my heart. He said he would be happy to admit me if and run some tests to see if he missed somthing. I politely said no thanks. I'll wait til monday. So he asked me if I wanted somthing for pain I told him I was taking vicodin but it wasn't doing anything. So he said he was going to write a script for percocet.  redface So we made a deal. He said if I get worse to get to the hospital and he would meet me there. 

so that's where it stands right now. it's probably just stress and it will pass.Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I'm gonna try to lay on a heating pad for awhile

Hi Carol,

Just don't be too stubborn and wait too long sister! Seriously, if you feel that chest getting any tighter or pain getting worse, please go in like the doc suggested! We need you around here to keep all of us in line and keep us laughing, so you take care of yourself okay?

I'm sending a big (((HUG))) your way, I squeeze that fluid or stress, whatever the heck it is out of you if I have too girl! You take care, we don't want you missing that pajama party with Pat on Sunday, so shape up!
