Weird thing with my eye last night...

Last night at 2:30am, I woke up with the worst eye pain I've ever had.  It was only in my right eye, and it felt like a truck load of sand had been poured into my eye and my cat took her claws to it.....  Really scratchy, and painful.  So I got up to take a look, and the darn thing looked just fine. No redness or swelling, no tears. So I rinsed it out anyway, but it didn't help.  I finally got back to sleep, but the pain was really bad. Hurt to touch my eye, and blink, and with my eyes closed too.  I woke up this morning and everything was fine. 

 

Anyone else experience something like this?

I had the same problem about 6 months ago. I went to the eye doctor and they said that my eye was inflamed. probably from the lupus. They said not to rub it that it would go away in a few days. It did...It took about 3 days but on the 4th day it felt like nothing had even happened to it. When that happened they increased my prednisone for a week.

Yeah, my pain lasted about 3 hours and then went away.  So strange.  I hope it's not inflammation. My Lupus has been so quiet for over a year now.  I will be ticked right off it's flaring!

Ginny, inflammation makes sense to me, this DD can wreck havoc where ever it wants! devil I had a similar experience last night but didn't think much about it until I read your post. I too felt like there was something in my eye last night, I got up twice to look at it, couldn't find a thing and today it's been fine. I went to my rheumy today and my body is wrecked with inflammation eyes

Maybe you should see your eye doctor to have it checked, I see mine next month. I hope it doesn't give you any more trouble! Hugs

You too?  How weird. Was it a full moon last night? LOL.  I'm also having these "silver bullets" going across my eyes a lot. Especially in the last 2 weeks.  Occular Migraines too. Lots of eye issues actually, now that I think about it. UGH.. WHY.  GO AWAY LUPUS.... I want to scream and hit something at the same time.  I'll see my pcp tomorrow and if he recommends a visit to my eye doctor I'll go.  Heck, I'll go anyway.  I might as well just make the appointment.

Is anyone else just pissed right off about their disease right now?  Vent to your heart's content.  Just let it out!!!!

I am incrediablly pissed off at this disease....Everything was going just great until 2009 rolled around. Since then I have been going down hill so fast. Yeah...I have ONE good day about once every other week. I don't understand why this has to happen to anyone. But is it just me or does it seem to be hitting everyone at the same time? On Wednesday I go to give blood and get other tests run to see if the medications that I think are slowly killing me are helping fix my Kidneys. Then on the 17th I have an apt with my rhuemy and my renal doctor to find out about the test. I guess either way it is a loose loose situation. If its working...I stay on the meds that seem to be ruining my life...if it is not working I get to go to injections of cytoxan which most of ya'll probably know those side effects. So...yeah sorry about the vent but I really needed to. I have been holding so much in because I don't want to burden my family and let them know how crappy I am really doing. I don't want them to worry about me anymore than they do. Thanks for listening!

Hi Ginny,

I don't know what's going on, but something or someone is out to get us lupies and our eyes...LOL! Right before I signed on tonight I told my husband I think I'm getting an eye infection or something, my eyes have been killing me all day and right now it feels like someone is sticking needles in them! Seriously, my eyes hurt so bad, the Restasis is not helping any at all right now, actually it burns like heck to put the drops in.

Hmmm, makes ya wonder what the heck is going on doesn't it!

That is crazy Melissa! That's how my pain was last night. Like someone poking me with needles. Good description.  Wow, I hope it's nothing and we can all just get on with it! 

 

How's your Fibro?  Mine's freakin' out.  I am so sore all over tonight, and I have a headache to go with all the neck and back pain.  I wonder if the eye thing is Fibro related?  I did wonder about it being Sjogrens, but my eyes, nose and mouth aren't dry. (I'm throwing my hands up!)
