Hi--
Well, before leaving Mayo for good, I talked to someone there about the fact that several docs outright refused to look at my gallium scan and answer my questions about possible lymphoma or sjogrens result and whether it would be wise to at least consult with an oncologist.
Anyway, probably just to satisfy me, they are sending me to an oncologist next week. I don't know if the guy will tell me I'm a hypochondriac or what will happen. I have read that they hold off on treating some low grade lymphomas until people are sicker because the treatment is like worse than living with extremely slow growing lymphoma. My stepmom says there is only one option, if they find it, treat it. It frightens me because I've just getting through the last month of this stupid isoniazid for TB and it has not been easy. I went through interferon. Another drug torture thingy doesn't sound like much fun right now.
But I do need to know. I need to be around for my sons, and my family as much as I can be. And maybe things will improve.
My luck, they will look at the gallium scan picture and tell me "It's Fibro!" LOL, which seems to be the answer for everything. If only things were that simple.
I hope you all are doing good and that I get a good reading of my scan, a comprehensive one, and thorough testing and appropriate treatment, if needed. I hoping it was the TB, and that a repeat scan will show it is going away and maybe will make the case for me to get a final blast of antibiotics to make sure this sucker is gone for good.
BTW, the consensus was that I was "too fat" to have cancer. My stepmom about choked when I told her that, thats one of the reasons why they never even referred me to an oncologist.
