butterfly rash

Hi guys. I know it seems like I have alot of questions. I am new to lupus and trying to figure things out. Yesterday I had a stressful day and today my butterfly rash is out and very noticable. It is very red and hot. At first I am thinking it is because of the anitbotic I am on. But now I thinking it could be the stress. Will stress bring out your butterfly rashes in any of you?

Have you been exposed to the sun? Both the sun and a lupus flare cause my butterfly rash to become more predominant. And yes, I believe (but not everyone does) that stress can bring on a flare.

Take a picture of your face and take it to the doctor the next time you go. He'll be able to answer your question about the antibiotic.

Mine is always very noticeable after I get home from work so I know the stress of the day and traffic have a lot to do with it. I always feel feverish too when I get home. It does calm down and go away by the end of the evening after I have relaxed at home so I have no doubt that mine is made worse with stress.

I agree with Patty, make sure to take a picture and take it to your doctor and keep a copy of the photo in your own home version of your medical file :)
