Pain in lungs when holding breath

I am really giong through it with trouble swallowing and hiccups and reflux.  Anyway, the hiccups are so bad, I hold my breath to get rid of them. But when I do, I get really sharp and bad pain on the right upper part near my collar bone and shoulder. I'm also having pain under that armpit.  My mom gets pleurisy. Does it feel like that?  It really scared me because it hurt so bad.  something bad is going on. And all my steroid shots all ran out and I couldn't stand up and hurt worse than before.  I started on a small amount of prednisone to taper down better and stop the panic attacks and crashing.  Any help will help. People notice I'm different.

Hi! In my experience with Pluerisy it hurts when you exhale or breath in. For me the worst part is when I laugh. I have been curled up on the floor because the pain is so bad. It feels like everytime you breath someone has stabbed me (well what I imagine that would feel like) over and over again. I would deffinatly call your rhuemy and let them know what it feels like and what all is going one. I do know that the treatment for pluerisy is prednisone, usually high doses (in my experience)! Let us know what they say!

d was writing a nice detailed reply,don't know what I keep doing but lose everything.maybe a hint from above to keep it short and sweet. Anyway, my son said mom please look up s/s of gallbladder,even though old retired R.N. this is post cerebritis. Signs/symptoms so familiar. went on all natuRa galbladder diet I found on net and followed some juicing suggestions,after 4 years of what you described,a major relief.Always inform Dr.But this really helped me,but if I add to much fat one day,symptoms back.Hope this helps.God Bless,Namaste Raven1954l

Thanks raven, yeah, just can't tolerate some foods anymore. Theysay my gall bladder is okay per the test bt that the test is not reliable. Thanks, will look it up. Take care and hope you're doing okay!
