Hi Linx. Depression was one of my first lupus symptoms and it continues to be a daily issue. I noticed that you see a therapist, but do you also see a psychiatrist? You may simply decide that you'd rather be on pain meds than anti-depressant and anxiety meds. Personally, when my psych meds keep my emotions in check, it's much easier to handle the pain. More importantly for me is when I'm on the right psych meds, the crying jags stop and as the depression lifts I reach out to family and friends.
On a side note, don't beat yourself up bout taking the pain meds, I resort to them too, but to keep narcotics to a min, I take celebrex and tylenol arthritis twice a day. Take care Sweetie and think of spring. Love, Butterflake
