lyme disease?

Well, since the rheumy suggested I have symptoms of MS I've been looking up info and while I do have some of the symptoms (CNS related) I don't think it applies to me. In my searching I ran across the symptoms of Lyme disease. OMGosh! There they all were including an enlarged liver and light sensitivity! I am from the south and have found many a tick on my body so it's a definite possibility. So, when I go back to the rheumy in 2 weeks I'm gonna have him check me for ticks-hehe. If that's not it, then maybe I should see a psychiatrist. Either way, I'm not giving up till someone tells me what's wrong with me. I always found the idea of a padded cell as somewhat comforting lol.

Hi Jesimae, I've been tested twice for Lyme since I used to be a Vet Tech and a kennel supervisor at an animal shelter, never came back positive. I couldn't believe I was actually praying that I had Lyme disease becaus at least it is easier to treat then Lupus or other AI conditions. Either way I hope your results come back in the most manageable way possible and that you soon find relief. Take care and watch out for those nasty little critters, they're vicious this season.

Come over to the lyme board. I was dx with lupus and then figured out I had lyme. I think the untreated lyme caused my lupus.

Also Puccini, lyme testing is 95% faulty. Because you were dx negative doesn't mean you don't have it.
If you did the Elisa or typical western blot, they often show false negatives.
Igenex testing is more accurate, though not full proof and it's mostly a clinical dx.
And lyme is not easier to treat than lupus, it's actually more of a nightmare.

Lyme does mask as lupus

Well, I actually remember telling my Mom (she has fibro) about a girl that I worked with who had Lupus and Fibro. She told me that her rheumy checked her tick titer and it was positive. He told her that is one of the theories of what causes some of these immune disorders. But my Mom said her rheumy checked it already and said it was fine. Hmm...
