So I am still confused about
everything that is going on with me. I went to Dr (lupus specialist) to go over my test results. First thing he told me was that I have a severe vitamin D deficiency. He said that the lowest average is 40 and I only have a 10!. I have no idea how this can be I eat cheese alot and drink milk and my vitamin D count is horribly low.
Then I was told that I had lymes disease. He said that all 5 band tiers tested positive. He is starting me on lymes medication. I was told 4 years ago that I tested positive for lymes but then I was told that it was a false positive and that lupus could cause this to happen. My Dr at the time took me off of the lymes medication.
Now the Dr I saw today said that I had a "touch of lupus". His exact words were you have lymes with a touch of lupus; sounds like a cocktail to me. I asked him what he meant by this touch of lupus business. He told me that I show all the signs of lupus and also my ANA has been positive(I have also had the face rash in the past). He said that we will have to wait until I take the lymes medication to see what is going on with how I am feeling before he can be 100 percent sure of lupus.
It is my understanding that Lupus can cause severe vitamin D deficiencies and also can cause false positives for lymes test. Is this true?
I go see another specialist on Monday. I was just hoping to finally get lupus answers today but I feel like it is 4 years ago happening all over again(No one knowing what is wrong, having test done, being told I had diseases such as Lymes then being told that I don't). I just hope my Dr was right 4 years ago and that I have not had undiagnosed lymes reeking havoc on my body this whole time.
Anyone have any advise or has been through something similar to this?
