I'm on the advantage program and I have a nurse come in once a week. I was supposed to have someone come in 16 hours a week to help around the house but with all the cut hours I got cut back to 6 hours a week. I would go for bed hungry and crying. trying to decide if I could get to the kitchen and grab something or sleep for a couple of hours annd then nuke something. I'm supposed to be on a high protein low carb diet but since I can't do much for myself anymore it's impossible. I live on lean pockets and saltine crackers.
I've been agonizing over moving into an assisted living home. Then I checked out another home heallth place. All the sudden the peopl I had all these years got me a new person to give me all the hours I need the day before I was supposed to change companies.
At any rate when I was in the nursing home they said it would take all but 50.00 a month of my money. to pay my way. I can't even pay my cell phone bill for that. Plus it feels like it's the that train stop before the end of the rail. This new lady starts this afternoon so I will see how she does. If it doesn't work out I guess my options are pretty limited. assisted living or nursing home. I tried living with family before and that just didn't work out. Plus my mom is almost 80 and she needs her own help. everyone else works so it wouldn't be of any help they are never home. When I first heard about lupus I never thought it could get the bad.
So anyone got suggestions?
thanks
