is anything else going to go wrong???

Having finally been diagnosed myself, I got a call from Australia early this morning to say that my Son had been to the emergency room and they diagnosed him with Kidney Nephritis... NOW I have to open my mouth, I am sick with worry he too has lupus, he suffered bad and still does from growing pains and migraines... He has more blood work to be done today, I have to wait now all day long before i can call because of the time zones... worried sick! Who says it isn't genetic, My Mum, my sister, me and now HIM too????

Sorry to hear that...*HUGS*........hope its not tho, and whatever it is i hope he recovers. How old is he?

And recently and more frequently i have met people online who had lupus in their family as well. Either a mother, cousin, aunt etc

Which is really starting to scare me...

I'm beginning to think that it IS in SOME way GENETIC as well...

they have proven there is a genetic link just not how much of one. they are actually trying to do research into just that subject with sisters 1 who has lupus and 1 who is healthy I can't recall the name of the study but my sister refused to participate because it would involve blood work and she is deathly afraid of needles.

Oh wow! So sorry to hear this. I will be praying for you and your family as well as your son in hopes the nephritis will respond to meds quickly!

Thanks everyone... My Son is 16. The update is after all the bloodwork and ultrasounds, they now say that other than  a possible kidney stone, he is perfectly healthy. It has got me BEAT why they would say nephritis and scare the beejeezuz out of us! So... Mummy has calmed down now rolleyes

Oh I am so glad that he is going to recover. Not that kidney stones are any fun because I am sure that they aren't but at least he can recover. I hope that you feel better too.
