I am constantly so cold. I know that others out there have to be cold too! How do you keep warm? Favorite tips for warming up after you've gotten cold?

I'm currently sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket with 2 pairs of long underwear and fleece on, freezing! Everyone around me thinks I'm crazy being so cold all the time and wearing coats inside haha.

I've found that layers only help if something is generating heat inside the layers -- electric blanket, hot pad, hot water bottle, something -- my hands & feet in particular will not warm not matter how many layers. Run hot water over them...exercise helps as well.

How is your iron level? Anemia can make us feel cold...definitely something to ask your rheumy about as I'm sure there are other reasons to feel cold.

thank you for bringing this topic up!  i was able to read it to my husband who just thought i was goofy.  now he gets the cold thing!  thank you!

I can so relate to this topic! Everyone at work thinks it's pretty funny.... Me, not so much. I'm a florist and am in and out of a cooler all day. But despite that, I'm still always freezing!
I layer and layer and layer... Always have an electric blanket on at night. My poor hubby!! Oh well, it will be summer soon enough and then the photo-sensitivity begins! :=]

Glad I'm not the only one out there freezing their booty off :)

I live in Alaska and when I went to work this morning it was 2 degrees outside (and I live in the warm part of Alaska, thank goodness!).... even though I warm my car up, it's impossible to avoid getting chilled several times a day. Hot showers help lots but I have to put my preschooler to bed before I can take one (and most nights I don't have the energy to put her to bed, so we just go to bed together).

I also use a "bed buddy" - fabric bag filled with rice that you heat in the microwave.

I can't wait till summer!

I just posted about this on another thread but I'm going to rave once again about the battery-powered warming gloves my husband bought me. They are for motorcyclists (no I don't ride!). They are rechargeable, and not very attractive, but it's so nice to not have cold hands. I also have a heating pad if i need it, and hot tea or soup can help. Last winter (I live in NJ- snowmageddon, snowpocalypse, etc etc!) I bought an ankle-length land's end puffy coat. Best money I ever spent.

I got cold then hot then cold etc, so I have layers of blankets on my bed so I can switch back and forth.

I have a very hard time with my temp. I can get overheated very quickly in the summer and freeze all winter long.
My husband has bought me several electric heated throws which I use almost constantly and recently purchased some micro fleece sheets which are so much better and warmer than flannel.
