Hello everyone.

I am still undergoing lab work, however Dr believes its Lupus.

Went to Dr due to chronic low grade fever ( about 4 weeks), feeling fatigue, generally not feeling well.  I know my body and it was just not right.

 

Ana +

Titer 1:160

Homogenous & Speckled Pattern (Dual)

 

Iron deficiency

Slightly Low RBC

RH Factor normal (9)

Sed Rate 1

 

Small amounts of Protein & Leukocytes in urine.

 

Still waiting to see DR about Anti-dsDNA results.  Was told over the phone everything appears to be normal.

 

Can it still be Lupus?  I do not have any joint pain or skin rashes ( Butterfly).  Just a lot of symptoms that seem to be all over the place that come and go.

Waiting is tough, and please hang in there. So many of us, so often, for so long, are told.."Everything is normal/fine/ok/not diagnostic/all in our head/must be depressed/come back in 6 months/get a life/ buck up/write to your congressman/call the president/are you sure you are not depressed? and visiting dr. after dr. until someone listens. Be reassured to know that it is expected that our symptoms come and go, because autoimmune antibodies come and go, lab abnormals are there and then they're not, as it is the nature of the beast.

Check out the link to Diagnosing Lupus in my signature. Lupus is diagnosed by having 4 of 11 symptoms, there is no single test or blood test that either confirms nor denies the diagnosis of Lupus.

Doctors vary widely in how many symptoms or of what severity they use in diagnosing lupus. It's one of those diseases where obtaining treatment is much more important than the diagnosis itself.

If your doctor does choose to call it Lupus, all the more chance of being treated! In my case, it took almost 3 years of increasing fatigue and low grade fevers until anything was really suspected, so you are in a good spot to have so few symptoms and a doctor who is on top of things.
