Its funny but I wrote a whole page of info yesterday and today I do not see it?
Oh well, here goes again.
Yesterday I visited with the endo regarding my thyroid and metabolic work up. She told me the reason for my hot flashes is the thyroid meds. Because I had cancer they usually start out with a higher dose to treat aggressively and then taper down as needed. (and, it could be menapause, am 50) She also told me that my vitamin D levels are really low again and I need to take 50,000 ius 3x a week with 3 refills versus the normal one a week for 12 weeks. My iron levels are also low and need to add another dose per day of that. B-12 is still on the low normal side but getting the shots for that any way.
Wednesday I will be visiting the rheumy. I have some blood work to go over. The sed rate was quite high (47 with 0-30 being normal). But the ana was negative, the RF was in range and Lymes was negative. There were some other things that were either high/low but don't really know yet what all that means to me and this burning muscle ache.
Friday I had a shot in my left knee. The ortho was surprised and happy that I am able to handle the pain fairly well with just the ocassional shots. He had thought for sure that I would be asking for the surgery by now. I would like to wait for summer to be over because I love walking the grandbabies on all the nice summer evenings. Daughter says maybe I could get it done and spend the days in the sun with her and the babes. Both arguments are good but I went ahead with the shot and will wait and see.
Had a wonderful relaxing mothers day. Made salads and cold dishes ahead of time so all we had to do was set it all out when everyone was ready.
Hope everyone else had a good day and will continue to have a good pain free week.
