Question about kidney involvement?

Hi everyone. Hope you are having a good summer. Recently my routine urine/blood tests showed possible "proteinuria". After rerunning several tests and adding a couple of new tests, the rheumy confirmed that there is something going on with the kidneys. Definite proteinuria. Currently, I am awaiting an appointment with a nephrologist. Just wondering what to expect at this visit? Are there any specific questions I should ask? Just curious (and maybe a little nervous

Proteinuria is simply a condition where protein is filtered out of your blood and can cause edema and kidney damage. You might be asked to do a 24 hour urine test, additional blood tests, and even a kidney biopsy. The good news is that it is usually treatable with an ace inhibitor like lisinopril.

I have it and my kidneys have returned to normal function.

Thank you for the link. That was exactly the information I needed. And I am reassured to know that your kidneys have returned to normal. I think that was my biggest concern and you answered the question that I was afraid to ask.
