need info please

my girlfriend is 33 and has lupus. She was born with only one kidney, but it's larger than a normal one she says. The problem is her kidney has started going into failure. Should I be more concerned about her welfare than someone with two kidneys? I've done some research on lupus but I'm not a doctor. I just need to know if my concern should be more, less or the same.

Since she only has 1 kidney, I would say your concern should be more. But can concern really be ranked?

With kidneys, there is labwork that defines the amount of failure occurring - a nephrologist should be measuring, monitoring, and treating!
