I have had warts treated since being diagnosed with lupus in 1990. I go every two weeks for one stubborn one on my thumb, (I had multiple ones on every finger of both hands, two years of freezing they went away). Was on Plaquenil since 1990, was put on Imuran when I started losing vision in my right eye. Within months of the Imuran, warts started coming back on my hands. That's why I want to stop the Imuran and use it only during a flare. My lupus always tends to attack my bone marrow and it quits making red cells. I see my Rheumy in a couple weeks and he pretty much lets me do what I feel I need to do. I respond well, when it's time to treat a flare.
Also, it's my understanding there are many strains of hpv and what I have on my hands is a different strain of the virus. If HPV doesn't go away, how will it present itself when I have all my "equipment" removed?
So much for being careful when you meet someone new and request they get tested for STD's, doesn't show in tests for men unless there are visual warts. This is all so disgusting.
