Hi everyone,
A week-end camping trip with a group of my students turned into a nightmare for me. I admit, I wasn't as diligent wearing my big floppy hat and keeping out of the sun. And maybe some of my negligence was due to feeling pretty well before the trip and thinking I could get away with it. Well, I paid the price and am now feeling miserable. I woke up with swollen hands, swollen feet, nausea, and malaise. As the morning has worn on, I am experiencing more fatigue and that just lousy feeling that comes with it. And the worse part of it is that I have work to do to get ready for my school week, including lesson plans, grading papers and special education paperwork. ERGGGGGGGGGG!!!!! This is when I really hate having Lupus. I have been dealing with this disease since 1997 and you would think I would know better. But that's the problem. I get to feeling good and I get lulled into a sense of complacency, which usually gets me into trouble. Thankfully, I have today to rest as I go about the task of completing my work. The camping trip WAS fun and the kids had a blast. Most of them did not realize how awful I was feeling on the drive back home. I guess I just needed to whine a bit (which I don't often do), but these slips and downturns really get me down. At least the school year is almost over!!!! Thanks for just listening.
