Well, I went to my primary care doctor yesterday and she prescribed Prozac and Lorazepam. I cried the whole time I was in there. She also wasn't very encouraging about getting disability.
She said it was very hard to get and that she had a patient with some type of condition that had been verified by Mayo and Barrows neurological that had been denied SSD. That made me feel "good", not.

Also, I just got done filling out the piles of SSD paperwork that they sent me about my job and how my illness affects my everyday life. Don't they know it is kills me to use my hands to write. Took me two hours cause I had to keep stopping and resting my hands. At least it is done. Hubby still has to do the packet they sent for him to fill out about me.

Not feeling that great today. Haven't even gotten dressed. LOL.

Remember, some of what you just said is important to include on the paperwork. Can't write much - without intense hand pain, took X hours to write from item #5 to item #10 (or whatever it is).

Not feeling great - describe. Haven't gotten dressed -- describe. Shower? Able to fix your own meal?

Also, Drs project their own values on disability, etc. It's hard to get if you are her patient because it doesn't sound like she believes in it. Try and get other drs to complete the paperwork - drs that do consider you unable to do your previous work/chores.

Also include that you couldn't stop crying -- does it happen over little things as well? Include that.

Include the drugs above that you've never needed anything like in over ___ years of work, etc.

Heck, say how a Drs opion about disability drives you to tears.

Thanks so much for the advice Lynnwood. I had the last page of remarks still to fill out so I added a lot of the above. At least SS gives you a chance to explain how you feel and how your illness has impacted your life. The private disability company I am working with doesn't. They want everything from your doctor.

We will see how this goes. I am putting the Social security info in the mail tomorrow.

Hoping you have made a copy for yourself of everything. Just in case they call with any questions, you will have a copy in front of you of what they sent.

Yes, Debbie, I made copies for myself. I remember you saying that before. But one packet I had already sealed in the envelope and had to rip it open and make copies. Then taped the envelope back up.

Joy, I thought the first paper work was a lot. This was way more. Took me all day to get it all done and copied. There were 3 different packets and each packet had 8 pages to fill out. My husband had to fill one out as a 3rd party.

I'm glad that is done. turn
