AM I LOSING IT OR.....OVEREACTING

Its ok if you think im losing it when i write because i think i seriously am im quite worried cause it seems to me its just started happening i push it to the back of my head but think im seriously losing my marbles here. I do no that having Antiphospholid sydrome can effect the brain with clots and that. AHH i feel silly writing this like im freeting over nothing but i just wanted to check if others are the same and if its anything i forget things like days of the week what i was doing in the morning my medicines (sometimes) small things but has an effect to say im delucional i do get migraines alot as well 

Sorry this is me in drama queen mode...i  think since getting this dumbass illness it doesnt do anything else but make me worried about the next thing whats going to happen and what can happen. I dont think im going to fully learn the impact of this condition i find new things out as i go along.

P.S. iS it true that us lupers has a more bigger chance of cardiovascular diease, stroke, heart attack. oh and cancer {the big c}

What meds are you on? Lupus and some of our meds can contribute to anxiety! Talk to your doctor about maybe adding some anti-anxiety medications to what you take.

Forgetting small things, even a lot of small things, can happen when we are worried or distracted with bigger things, and is not of itself a huge worrisome issue.

Lupus does NOT increase the risk of other diseases!!!

When you find all these things building up to a huge storm in your head, take some deep breaths, think calming thoughts, and remind yourself to stay in the moment.

Hi Ms Lupus. I called a lupie friend last week and cried about my memory loss. I recently saw a clock with only the days of the week on it. I need that! It's true, I actually forget the days of the week. I have a medication holder with 31 numbered days and morning, noon, evening, night slots for each day. Of course that doesn't help when I take an OTC and can't remember if I did. I can't stress enough how much I hate my memory loss. I try to find the humor in it, but sometimes it just builds up and I cry. I used to have such a great memory that co-workers were amazed. I miss it and I'm so sorry that you are having such a hard time as too. Of course you should tell your rheumy on your next visit because sometimes strong medication can help. The memory loss is so aggrevating. I used to say I had a mind like a steel trap. I now say it's rusted shut.
I was so scared about my mind I went to a psychiatrist for evaluation for dementia. He said I was not crazy. LOL! He just said I have a processing and cognitive problem from all of my illnesses. (lupus and fibromyalgia)

I've learned to make notes and try not to fret, because fretting just makes it worse. I'm also seeing a psychologist who is helping me with coping skills.

Thanks guys, at least i know im not heading for dementia, i guess your right im so wrapped up in my illness at the mo im forgetting small things i guess its not so bad until i forget people then thats dementia zone

funny you say that i have a tablet case sometimes thoughout the day have to run back through memory did i take the morning tablets? did i take my asprin? sometimes i go asleep and forget the ones at night now thats funny but in the end i have to laugh it off at least it isnt dementia and i still no lots of things coming to terms with it is just what i need to do weather or not the memory loss will get severly worse is beyond me but hope not.

hi my daughter is 32 diagnosised in 08...when she gets a uti it sends her mentally in orbit...anyone else having that problem

Babs I have been getting frequent uti's and since in older women the symptoms are more silent, in the beginning I wouldn't go in for testing untill I began to get dizzy, and I felt as though my mind had stopped working a d I felt like I had the flu. Is not uncommon for elderly women with dementia I nursing homes to die from a UTI because their symptoms are not recognized. I don't have the typical burning but I now recognize the symptoms so I begin treatment ASAP.

Joy, I'm turning my memory loss into funny stories. We've bought a new house in order to downsize and make my life more manageable, but the process that goes along with having one house to fix up and one to sell has really been too much. I went to the new house on a cold day and asked the workmen why they hadn't turned on the heat & thet said they had tried but couldn't get it on. I called an HVAC guy who came out & told me the gas valve was shot & he could replace it for $400. I said no thanks and called the Inspector who had done our inspection prior to closing. He said he had turned it on & it worked fine. So I called our home warranty co who said that since I couldn't prove that it had ever worked after we purchased the home, they wouldn't cover it. During all of this I was also talking to our realtor and her assistant. Finally called another HVAC guy who came out and said there was nothing wrong, but the gas was not on. I had kept my cool to that point but wanted to jump down someone's throat at the gas co. Thankfully I didn't because when I calld to ask why they hadn't turned on the gas after I had established service, I was told that we had an appointment but that I had stood them up. I could have cried, but laughed instead.
