Tinnitis

I can't remember if I've asked this question before but please humor me and answer it again, because I can't remember the answers...

I've suffer from tinnitis (ears ringing constantly) for many years now. Lately they've gotten even noisier. I'm even getting "clicking" off and on in my right ear along with the constant high pitched "eeeeeeeeeee" in both ears.

It's getting very annoying!

I've been doing some research on it and found that sometimes people with lupus can have tinnitis also.

Do any of you suffer from this aggrevating noise?

I've only been on plaquenil for about two years. The ringing been around a lot longer than that. :(

My mom said for the last few days I've been yelling when I talk to her. I can't tell the difference. She's hard of hearing so if I'm yelling I must be louder than normal.

I guess I have another question for my Rhuemy in two weeks. :(

Sometimes with lupus the nerves in the ears will become irritated (part of our random inflammation issues) and dizziness and/or tinnitus will show up. Mine has always (so far) gone away - once it was about 5 wks, the other time 2 or 3.

Have your rheumy check the inflammation markers in your blood to see if something is going on. Most likely it is lupus itself that is the problem, not another illness suddenly popping up.
