Discoid Lupus

I also have discoid and I have lot of scarring. My dermatologist has told me that any cosmetic procedure , for example dermabrasion, is too invasive and can cause a flare of lesions. Are you under the care of a dermatologist? For me, I was prescribed Plaquenil and given a script for Clobetsol ointment. They both have helped, but after a year, I am going to be as good as it gets. The scarring goes very deep into the dermis & hyperdermis layers. It has taken me a long time to come to grips with this dx and spent most of my time going to work and home andbecoming a recluse of sorts socially.
So now, I am beginning to go out more and have to be thankful that I could have systemic involvement and have it so much worse than I do.
I could have been burned in a fire and be totally disfigured. Maybe if you think of it that way, you'll see in time as I have that you and I pretty lucky we only have to deal with a few scars.

It is a presciption and a very potent steroid. Do you have a derm? Is theat where you got your dx?

Dx = diagnosis
Rx = Prescription
Rheumy = Rheumotologist

that's all I can think of just now...
