Hi Everyone,
So the big news is that I am having surgery to fix three meniscal tears in my right knee on Friday. I met with my Rheumatologist, who is putting me on 20 mg of Prednisone the day of surgery and two days after surgery. I then go back to my regular maintenance dose of 10 mg. every other day. I also had to stop the Plaquenil temporarily, but I will be able to start back the day after surgery. I also have been taking Potassium Chloride to help alleviate my hypokalemia. Looks like that was the culprit in causing the Atrial Fibrillation that landed me in the hospital a month ago. And I am still taking the Beta Blocker to regulate the heart rate. Needless to say, I am a little nervous. The last time I had surgery was in 1979, and that was also the first time I ever had surgery. I know that procedures and techniques have changed since then, but the apprehension is still there. I have been working on getting myself strong both physically and emotionally. However, I did notice a bit more fatigue today and heaviness in my body that comes with stress. Yes, this is stressful, and I keep reminding myself to breathe and visualize healing light surrounding me. What I really need is some support from all of you. I know in my heart how much that will help.
