Last week I broke down and called a neurologist about my left arm shaking, headaches, and dizziness.

I passed most of the tests but the balance tests. eyes

I almost fell backward when the nurse asked me to close my eyes with my arms extented in front of me. When she asked me to walk a line heel to toe I couldn't. I staggered like a drunk. tongue

Tomorrow afternoon I'm supposed to get my brain MRI to find out the reason I keep getting vertigo. I'd hate to think lupus is taking my brain for a ride.

Afterwards my niece and I are going to SC to see her mom. I might let her drive if the vertigo hits me while driving. I've done had 3 attacks this evening. nono

Joy,

I'm sorry that you're having so many problems with your balance, migraines, and vertigo. I'm glad that you went to see a specialist and I pray that you're not having issues with lupus affecting your brain.

I'm going to pray all the results of the MRI are negative and that your vertigo is a benign vertigo. I know I suffer from benign positional vertigo. My ENT doesn't know why I get it or how to really stop it all the time. Last time I had it they did a realignment of the crystals in my. I haven't had a problem with vertigo in over 3 years now.

I also will pray that your trip to SC goes well. I pray that your niece will be able to drive all the way so that you will not have to take a chance driving and having vertigo hit you at the same it. Enjoy your trip, but please try to rest some and take care of yourself. Let us know when you get back and how you're doing.

Hi Joy,

     I am so sorry that you are suffering like that.  Like Barbara, I do get some vertigo, but it usually seems to be positional.  I hope they can figure out what's going on with you.  I will keep you in my thoughts!
