I'm 26, with a family history of Lupus and I myself already have Hashimoto's which is a autoimmune thyroid condition. Recently my doctor drew several blood tests to check my thyroid, and one she drew was ANA which came back positive. We wrote it off as being because of my Hashi's...however yesterday I went to the urgent care because during a period of stress this past month I developed this red rash on my face that covers all around my eyes, and my cheeks. It isn't on my forehead, around my mouth and only lightly the bridge of my nose. No matter what I did it wouldn't go away, so last night when it felt like literally my face was burning I went in. The doctor there said it looks like a Lupus mask, the butterfly mask. I am including a picture, as he was just a urgent care dog so maybe he was wrong? I don't want to have Lupus, and this scares me as with family history, another autoimmune disease, positive ANA and now this rash...it is spelling out L U P U S.
