Hi - I came across this board while looking for some Lupus info.
I went yesterday to my GP about a rash on my face, and she took one look at it, and said I had to be tested for Lupus. I've actually been tested several times before, as part of investigation for recurrent pregnancy loss, but I've only had one "weak positive" result, (1:40, speckled) and it has been otherwise negative. Also, the rash is primarily on the right side of my face, it doesn't seem to be the typical "butterfly".
I've had the rash for about ten weeks (I think), and it goes up and down, from bright red, to barely noticeable. It is slightly raised. It doesn't seem to be affected by food, products, etc but I'm not sure about light/sun/heat, because I hadn't thought about that before the doctor asked me.
I've also been feeling pretty awful. Ridiculously tired - I can function at work, but I need ten or more hours sleep each night. I have to drag myself about, and I am too stuffed to do any exercise. I've been having pain in my knees, elbows, and fingers as well. I asked my doctor if she could refer me to specialist of some type - perhaps in chronic fatigue. The whole time, I'd been thinking the rash unrelated to the way I felt, but now I can see it is possibly related.
Anyway, I guess I will have the blood test tomorrow, but I don't know if I am being a total hypochondriac now or not. I would love to have an answer, especially one that might help explain the miscarriages I've had. Would appreciate any advice.
