Hi 2Snowbell, I too am sorry to hear what you are going through. I've been there.
In 2007 I had my fill of 9 years emotional abuse from my husband. On November 17th I waited for the kids to get off the school bus with my van running. I got them in their seats and drove to the nearest women's shelter and never looked back. My kids were 5 and 8 at the time. It wasn't easy but we did it.
We started over with nothing, he wouldn't let us have any of our clothes, possessions.. nothing. Thank goodness for the donations from caring individuals and government housing as we moved from the shelter to a townhouse in March of 2008. We had three mattresses, a chair, linens and clothes. I gave up my business, my home, basically everything but what was important to me - my children and my self respect.
Fast forward to 2010, I owned a home again and had replaced all the material things that never really mattered too much. (just saying, it can be done). I also went through 2 years of therapy. I can't say enough how valuable therapy is.
In 2012 I married my best friend who supports me and my illness. We laugh together every day. I miss him when I'm working, I don't shrink back in fear of him reprimanding and yelling at me. He never does, He boosts me up and makes me smile even when I'm in tears from the pain and frustration that autoimmune disease dishes out. My children ADORE this man. Love him to bits! So do I :D
You can do that for yourself and your children. It isn't healthy for them to see you degraded and insulted. You don't deserve to be.
Depending on your area I may be able to find you some resources. I'd be happy to help you.
Gentle hugs,
Joie
