How would you describe your nasal sores?

I have a sore on my septum that's tender to the touch and otherwise irritating. How do you differentiate acne from lupus sores? Maybe coincidentally I've had a sore on my tongue that's slowly going away.

Hi PattyLatty. I've always assumed my nasal sores were the result of my lupus. I suppose it could be acne, but my rheumy thought they were from lupus. I also get tongue/mouth ulcers. Your rheumy can prescribe medication to help all this is it hurts badly. I hope yours heal soon. Love, Butterflake

Hi PattyLatty,

Since I never had acne, I pretty much figured that once I started up with the Lupus that they were nose sores. They are both tender to the touch and irritating....sometimes slow to go away as well. I don't have them as often since I have been on Prednisone, but I seem to be getting them more often now that I am on a Prednisone taper. I find that a little Triple Antibiotic cream can help, but for the most part, I let them run their course.

Those things are so painful! I use a mixture of triple antibiotic and Ayr Saline Gel.

I hate the mouth ulcers because I can't eat any spicy foods until they heal.
