Any Cardiologist recommendations for Mississauga/Toronto, Ontario?

I was diagnosed with Lupus and OA in July of 2013 and found out I am showing involvement with my heart and liver. I have developed a 4x3.5 cm cyst on my liver in three months and am showing signs of mild heart valve disease. There is a very strong history of heart disease in my family so I am being proactive and getting referred to a cardio. Just wondering if anyone in the Greater Toronto Area (if anyone is out there) has any thoughts/recommendations on Cardios. I am currently looking in Mississauga for now but if needed later would easily consider Toronto (Monk Cardiac Care Centre?).

Just looking for suggestions as I find getting a general referral to the local hospital usually results in seeing terrible doctors no one else will see.

Hi Sarahsativa and welcome! I'm in Haldimand, ON so I'm unsure of who to recommend in the GTA. Sometimes I will check the ratings of dr's on RateMD but it's a gamble. You have to take people's comments with a grain of salt. I do know there are some excellent cardios in Hamilton out of the General Hospital. That is where my Dad had his bypass. They specialize in heart conditions. Also my boss's husband recently had a very rare artery condition (it split in two!) and was treated at the General. The drive isn't bad from your area so it might be worth checking into.

I applaud your being proactive. It's very important when the family history is there and then having lupus as well. All the best :)
