Hi everybody, I am new here. I am writing because I feel such a wreck and nervous for my appt with my rheumatologist tomorrow. This all really came out of nowhere. Last week on Monday woke up with a severely dry throat, but not painful like strep. It went away in a day but I still felt pretty tired and lethargic and had a swollen gland under my chin (like where a double chin would be) By Friday after going through ups and downs of feeling better than worse again, I called my PCP, he ran blood work on thyroid, liver kidney, CBC, and the typical physical blood work done yearly since I was due up for them anyway. I started feeling fine by saturday and still do but nerves are getting the best of me. the doctor Called yesterday and said everything was normal but then called back in the afternoon saying the ANA test was late and was positive. I asked for a number but was told there was none, just a positive reading. The scary part for me is I read the lupus symptoms and I really don't get them. I also read people who have said the ANA also picks up cancer and that has really scared me especially since I don't seem to have the lupus symptoms. Could it really be cancer? Would my CBC have been normal if so. I'm all confused and scared. I am a 40 year old female if that helps. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you.
