Hi everyone.

So I have been in limbo land for 3 years now trying to figure things out health wise. I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Panic Disorder (I have medications for both, and have sought help for both.) For 3 years now though I have had an ANA of 1:640. I just had more in depth SLE panels done and I will be seeing the doctor to go over those this afternoon… For some reason, I have a pit in my stomach and I am super nervous and anxious! I know I need to take things as they come but I just am anxious and exhausted. I am afraid. I have very vague symptoms so it is hard to know just what they should be attributed to.

Any words of advice or encouragement would be great! I am a train wreck… ugh. Trying to pull it together here!

So my doctor was very confident in telling me I did not have lupus.. I still have a VERY elevated ANA and a speckled patter, however my SED rate is 2. (Which is practically as good as it gets, so there's no disease or inflammation going on in my body..)

He told me that I have tested high for this for years now. The only symptoms I have are panic attacks from my anxiety, occasional fatigue and dizziness, and muscle twitching.. none of which really apply to Lupus or SLE. So for now, I guess I am in the clear! He told me to not worry, and assured me that was no diagnosis for me.

This is great news for you. I kinda wanted to reassure you a bit too. Healthy can have positive ANA's and at high levels.

My daughter has had a Positive ANA since she was 7 years old, she's now 21 and her number is exactly the same as yours. I can't tell you how many times I've had her in to see the pediatric Rheumy and then I took her to mine, and then back again. Yes, she does have a couple of the symptoms of lupus but still nothing and no diagnosis yet and hopefully never.

I'd recommend you forge with your life and enjoy it and just remember back way back in your mind that you do have a positive ANA and IF you start showing symptoms, as to be seen by a Rheumy and get tested again.

Otherwise, CONGRATS yeah yeah yeah yeah this is good news for you.

Yes, my anti DNA and anti CLA and SED rates were all negative or perfect.. so there's no signs of auto immune or inflammatory disease happening in my body or those wouldn't have come back that way.

I am thinking my ANA may always be high and speckled because my father has an auto immune and so does my aunt. My doctor said sometimes it can be a hereditary abnormal result. As long as everything else looks ok, he told me there is absolutely no reason to worry. :)
