Lupus and incorrect MS diagnosis...brain lesions

Following another thread... how many folks out there have had a brain MRI and had MS like lesions ? I have them but have been checked out by a neurologist... and had a follow up MRI a year later... and MS was dismissed. I have talked to other folks who have autoimmune issues and have had a similar experience... and no MS.

Myself, I am still in limbo. I 'likely' have a mild form of Lupus but I have CVID (common variable immune disease... on plasma to replace IgG...don't make antibodies properly... screws up tests as I have a big mix of other peoples blood plasma in me too).

I was just curious as two folks on another thread have this experience.

FWIW, I am on plaquenil, not sure it's helping as summer is usually better for me anyway... as long as I stay out of the sun... and it doesn't rain (lotsa joint pain).

Sorry to hear that your Dr's called things the wrong way with the brain lesions. I know that we've had several folks over the years I've been a member on the forum who had lesions and there was a debate over Lupus vs MS.

I can think of one member currently who may be able to answer your question, hopefully, she'll see this thread and respond. I've never had any lesions in my brain. Most of my organ involvement is in my heart, lungs, GI tract, skin, and joints.

My anemia is really bad due mostly from my leukemia, but my lupus adds to the condition too. So, I've got tons of others blood flowing thru my veins like you. I average 2 to 6 units every 45 days or so.

I hope that you continue to do well on the plaquenil and I hope that they figure things out totally for sure really soon. Welcome to the forum, feel free to ask any questions you can think of.
