Dilated Aortic Root

A year ago my family doc discovered I have a heart murmur. Went to a cardiologist, had an echocardiogram done & found my aortic root is dilated. I had no symptoms at the time.

Now I have shortness of breath & chest pain. Went back to my family doc who ordered up another echocardiogram. The dilation has gotten larger. So I'm headed back to the cardiologist in a month.

Anyone else have experience with this diagnosis? I'm in a decent amount of discomfort and am wondering what to expect.
