oh no possible rash on face

I drove about 20 minutes to meet my mom for lunch and after about 15 into our lunch she said that I have a rash on my face. I was wondering because my face felt a little itchy and tight. after about another 15 my cheeks where not as red but my nose continued to be red and as we walked to the car she said oh my you are really red. It is much more noticeable outside. I have been inside now for 45 minutes and my face continues to have a slight burning sensation as well as the itchiness and the tightness.

Do you ever get like a bruised feeling? I mean this morning I noticed that my upper boney part of my chest feels bruised and so does my chin. I don't remember bumping either one. Also I did a little more standing last night and I noticed my hips are sore. Could this be related to lupus? Again I will mention that I have not been diagnosed with anything yet.

My face only shows a faint outline of the butterfly rash, luckily it coincided with my trip to the Rheumy. She said they had a new non steroid cream that relives the itching, and helps heal the rash. I go to see my dermatologist next month, so I will ask her about this.

I use a spf 50 with zinc, never go out in the sun or in the shade without it. The skin is reacting to the UV light, it will even penetrate normal cotton clothing. Even if it is cloudy outside, you will still get UV exposure.

My dr noticed the rash on my face. I've slowly been noticing it more and more myself as slightly flushed skin with splotchy red dots like freckles under my eyes and towards my cheekbones. I suspect the lighting at work is causing this. They use fluorescent lighting which is quite bright. Has anyone tried uv makeup? Which brand do you recommend? I've tried Almay and there is something in it which really irritates my eyes after a couple hrs. Should I wear sunscreen even under clothing?

Oh I missed where you said protective clothing! Thank you for mentioning it again. I may try the hat, I do need to wear my hair down more often too. I also love the protective clothing idea and already found a pullover online, with a hood and coverage over the hands. My boss turns the ac on at work year round so something like that seems perfect. I can't wait to do some shopping!
