Two tone nails?

I'm not always the most self observant person in the world but yesterday I just noticed my nails are two-tone. Not sure how long they have been this way. They are pale with a dark band before the white tip. Similar to 'terry nails' except while they are pale but not bleach white. I've been on plaquenil since July '14. Has anyone seen this before? Could this be a change caused by plaquenil? Or a beginning sign of raynauds? I work in a COLD environment simply because my supervisor has hormone issues and turns on the AC in 20-30 degree winter weather. Terry's nails is supposedly a sign of liver disease which I'm not quite ready or willing to freak out over...

Do what my sister did when she worked in a cold office...get a small ceramic heater and place it on your desk.

You might have Raynard's. I'd get checked out to be safe.

Well, most of the folks I've known on here over the last 10+ years have been on plaquenil long-term and I've never heard of this as a side effect before... so whatever it is, my bet is that it is NOT related to plaquenil.

I don't think it's really anything to worry too much about, but do mention it to your rheumy when next you see him/her.

I will ask the rheumy. I bought a heater with a high heat setting before Christmas and usually wear two layers (long sleeve shirt with a pullover and sometimes my jacket too) and I still get chilled at work, I'm seriously considering fingerless gloves and thermal underwear. My house stays cold thanks to a drafty 2 story ceiling in the living room, avg temp is 60-65 in winter, I'm used to that. But I can't for the life of me stay warm at work, it is very frustrating. One of these days I'll take a thermostat with me. Either my system is out of whack or someone needs to keep their hands off the ac.

Coolibar.Com sells fingerless gloves now in lightweight material. I just bought some. I love them. They do run a little small in the wrists though. Be sure to go one size up.
