Tests

HI,
so i finally got into my rheumatologist yesterday after having flare ups on inflammation going on right down my chest and in my shoulder blades. He is running the tests: ANA, ANTI-DS DNA, ANTI-SMITH, ANTI-RNP, SSA, SSB, C3, C4, U/A, ESR, CBC, CMP, AND CRP. CHEST CT


My question is and i know i have read the 4 signs for lupus and the thread on it all but has anyone had inflammation in their chest/shoulder blades? Im on 10 mg of prednisone and it calms it down. Also would these tests be able to determine if it is lupus? Thanks!

Welcome to our forum The_newgirl. Some things helpful for us to know is if the pain travels from your chest straight to your back, does it hurt when you breathe (pleurisy is common for us), does the pain in your shoulder blades shoot continually across from blade to blade (like mine does)?

There is no specific test for lupus, but your rheumy will evaluate the results along with your symptoms to make his diagnosis. A high anti-ds DNA is often found in lupus and high SSA, SSB are found in Sjogren's syndrome. Please let us know what your rheumy says and I hope you feel better soon. Love, Butterflake
