Update on Barb

Hi Everyone,

Barb asked me to let you all know that she is being admitted into the hospital as I am writing this post. She has pneumonia and possibly a fractured pelvis. Apparently her kidney function is off and she is showing muscle damage in her bloodwork.

Please keep her in your prayers, maybe even say two, she can really use all the help and support right now.

Barb still in ICU but doing a bit better. Guess her viral pneumonia is being resistant to meds, so it'll take her a while to get better.

Thanks for the update on our dear friend Barb, as unsettling as the news appears. How much more can this dear saint of a woman possibly take?

As my usual response to my friend, hang in there Barb, remember our agreement? Never, ever, give up hope. My best to you, and my hopes and prayers going your way.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying a pain free weekend. I wanted to thank all of you on Barbs behalf for your prayers and good wishes. She truly does count on your support.

She is being moved to a regular ward today. She sounds better, but still has hurdles to jump over. Her husband is taking her the laptop, so maybe she will have the strength to post herself, if not I will.

I find some of her issues complicated, but I will do my best to get it straight when I relay it to you.

Prayers..

I talked to Barbara this afternoon. She is feeling much better and has been on a regular ward for a couple of days now.

Today they did a couple of heart catheterizations (vein & artery) to see if her heart was why she turns purple from time to time -- heart looks good. They thing it might be a clot in the vena cava, or maybe vasculitis in the lungs. Guess more testing is in the works.

As far as the hip pain, they have an MRI scheduled. There is some supposition that necrosis is occurring in the hip bone, in which case they've mentioned a hip replacement.

So that's all the news...I told her I was going to post that the mean old lady was still kicking...she laughed & laughed. :)

Glad to hear her mood is good. I hope she can go home soon.
