So my primary did more blood work, and checked urine. Still blood there, and numbers still high.
She said here in Oklahoma it takes 6-8 months to see a nephrologist to get a kidney biopsy. She said she disagrees with my rheumy. She wants another opinion.
She is sending me to a urologist first, because she said a nephrologist will want that work up first anyway. She also wants me with a new rheumy, and is checking to see who is available first. The doc she wants just left private practice to enter research. She said she'd be fine with me going to Dallas if I want, but wants me to stay local if I can. There is no chapter here, so Dallas is the closest one. We will see.
She really feels it is Lupus Nephritis. She's known me since my children were little, so I really trust her opinion.
I'm a little scared, but I'm faithful that we will figure this out. Just because this last rheumy was touted as the best, doesn't mean she was the best for me.
In the mean time, I'm working hard to stick to this low potassium diet, and keep any progression to a minimum. I've been complaining about my cognitive issues since the beginning. It's the reason I had to quit my job as an accountant/office manager. Hopefully I'll get in to see the new neurologist soon. I'm going to demand every scan, test available. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
I'm worried if it's LN, it is already attacking my brain, because my cognitive issues go well beyond any "fog".
Thank you again to everyone who has been supporting me, and helping me figure this out.
